About

The Hillsboro Lions Club

We are a dedicated group of individuals who believe in positively impacting our community.

Our club has a long-standing service history, with a commitment to improving the lives of those in need.

Being a Lions Club member goes beyond just community service. We offer a welcoming environment where you will make lifelong friendships and develop leadership skills.

By joining our club, you can connect with like-minded individuals and contribute to meaningful causes.

Why Join the Club?

Serve the Community

As a Hillsboro Lions Club member, you will join our friendly group as we have fun serving together doing projects that directly benefit our community. From fundraisers for local causes, to organizing food drives for the less fortunate, your involvement will create a lasting impact and help those in need.

Lifelong Friendships

You will have the chance to develop new friendships as you expand your network within the community. We are a fun group who cares for the people in our Club as well as our community. We form lasting and meaningful relationships as we serve together.

International Impact

By joining the Hillsboro Lions Club, you become part of an international network of 1.4 million members spanning over 200 countries worldwide.

Lions unite our global service around five areas of need:

  • Diabetes
  • Hunger
  • Childhood Cancer
  • Vision
  • Environment

In 1925, Helen Keller asked the Lions Clubs to be her “Knights of the Blind.”

We accepted her challenge, and today we still work to prevent unnecessary blindness and to serve

those with visual impairments.

The Hillsboro Lions recycle used eye glasses from our collection boxes around town.

We also have vision assistance to provide an eye exam and glasses for anyone who cannot afford them.

If you need vision assistance call us at (636) 789-2652.

We are here to serve.

Many eye conditions are correctable, if treated before a child is 7.

Our KidSight team goes to schools, daycares, and events to provide free eye screenings.

If you want to invite our team visit, call Lion Janice at (636) 789-2029.

Let’s Paws for Reflection

The Mane Thought of the Week:

I’m a Mess on the Inside and Outside,

But I’m Consistent

Sometimes life feels like a timeless anthem of self-deprecation: "Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, I guess I'll go eat worms." Who knew a tune about munching on creepy crawlies could capture the essence of existential crisis so perfectly? It's like our childhood version of therapy, but with more dirt and less couch.

But let's peel back the layers of humor and get real for a sec. Behind those catchy lyrics lurks a profound truth: we've all felt a bit like those lonely worms at some point. Whether we're cracking jokes about our own shortcomings or avoiding social gatherings like their plague parties, it's clear that insecurity and fear of rejection run deeper than we care to admit.

But fear not, fellow worm-eaters! By confronting our inner doubts and embracing some good ol' self-love (with a side of therapy and a sprinkle of self-reflection), we can break free from the cycle of self-sabotage and bask in the glory of inner peace. So, let's raise a toast to overcoming insecurities and living our best, worm-free lives. After all, who needs worms when you've got love, acceptance, and the occasional slice of pizza?
